The Influential Textile Designs of Jacqueline Groag

Czech-born Jacqueline Groag (1903-1985) was an influential textile designer in Nice Britain following World Struggle II. Jacqueline Grog designed a variety of gown materials for F.W. Grafton in the course of the Nineteen Forties. One among Groag’s Grafton patterns, a basic tulip motif, was chosen by the British vogue couturier Edward Molyneux for a gown he designed for HRH Princess Elizabeth. Jacqueline Groag initially conceived her “First Night time’ gown print in 1938 for Elsa Schiaparelli, who, along with Coco Chanel, dominated vogue between the 2 World Wars. First Night time was primarily based on Groag’s drawing of the viewers throughout opening evening on the Paris Opera. The material was offered in the US beneath the title Gala Night time.
